At the start of services, we conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) to identify why problem behaviors occur. This includes, observing your child and speak to you as parents about your primary concerns. We then create a behavior intervention plan and create behavior and skill acquisition goals to address specific needs.
ABI designed its Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) program to provide children with autism the best services possible. Our clinic is four times a week in a classroom setting. Children learn in a structured environment while providing an increased number of opportunities for learning and consistent reinforcement. Our team works with children and their families to create an individualized treatment package that addresses language, social, cognitive, and daily living skills so that children can better access their daily environments and promotes independence. Strategies are based on more than 60 years of scientific research and is based on ABA principles, using positive reinforcement, prompting, fading, shaping, and generalization. Our goal is to create a reinforcing environment that encourages and motivates student to learn and play!
Depending on the number of authorized service hours during the week, your child will have Behavior Interventionists (BI) on their team. During ABA therapy sessions, the BI will work on goals written for your child’s unique needs. Services can be conducted at home, in the community, or in their school environment.
A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will be assigned to each child. They are responsible for creating and monitoring treatment plans. Depending on the number of authorized supervision hours, your supervisor will come to the home, school, or community to provide supervision and additional training to parents and staff. Supervisors also conduct initial and on-going assessments, analyze data, modify treatment plans as needed, write progress reports, and collaborate with other professionals working with your child.
Parent involvement is key to a successful program. We encourage parents to participate throughout treatment. Parent training goals are written and developed individually for each parent.
